Welcome to my blog! From this virtual stage I will address daily news regarding Israel and our never-boring neighborhood. Occasionally I will be joined by my friend Igor, who will introduce himself in due time. Now, let us refer to 3 burning questions about this blog- “who?”, “why?”, and “how?”
“Who?”- My name is Beny Falkovich, I was born, and still live, in the town of Rehovot, 23 km south of Tel-Aviv (long distance by Israeli standards). A research student in the Weizmann Institute of Science (organic chemistry) by day, and a fervent blogger by night. Sometimes I even dare to sleep.
“Why?”- Scouting the net for different versions of important news, I often encountered comments condemning Israel for various things. These comments are usually top-class propaganda material- beautifully shaped half-truths and whole lies. True, we Israelis are not completely perfect, but whatever our terrible sins may be, they don’t come even close to what we are so enthusiastically accused of. More infuriatingly, these lies are quickly absorbed by other people, thus spreading. So I decided to oppose this phenomenon, quickly responding whenever flase accusations are made. However, there being one of me (two of us, now, actually) and lots of them, I did not have the effect I hoped. I then decided to open this blog.
“How?”- I work in two ways: mostly I will give my views on big, newsworthy events that occur ’round these parts. Also, however, feel free to express any thoughts and opinions in the comments, and if I feel the need to correct something or respond to it, I will do so in the next post.
